Plot : The 40 Year Old Virgin is a romantic comedy about the harsh secret of a person’s life and the difficulties caused by it. Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell), 40, has an almost perfect life. He has a nice attitude, some good friends, a nice apartment and a job at an electronics superstore. The only problem is that he has never had sex in his entire life. He reveals this secret to his friends during a poker game. They find it very odd that at such age when they had experienced a lot of it, their friend has never even slept with a woman in bed. Yearning to help Andy, they all try a lot to get him laid but all their sincere efforts go in vain. It’s only when Andy meets a divorced mother of three, that they see a ray of hope. The lady Trish (Catherine Keener), also 40, owns a store named "We Sell Your Stuff on eBay" across the street. Though the two begin a relationship but Andy still has a long way to go due to the condition that they will not have sex until their twentieth date.
